Services:

  • Free Initial Consultation
    • I often recommend that we set up an initial, Free Consultation prior to moving forward with starting therapy. The purpose for this is simply to make sure that we are a good fit for each other prior to moving forward with setting goals, and starting therapy. We all have individual preferences when it comes to personality and communication styles and just as this is important in the friends and partners we choose, it is also important in the therapeutic process. Have a strong alliance with your therapist is proven to increase the odds that therapy will be beneficial for you. Free consultations are 20-30 minutes in length. They can be done in person or over telehealth.
  • Individual Therapy
    • The purpose of individual therapy is to give you or your child a space to talk with another person about your strengths and struggles and to develop goals for growth and self-awareness to work towards. At Dagaz Therapy, I work with ages 10 through adulthood. Very often, our past, weaknesses, issues, trauma, anxiety, and depression seem to have led us astray and away from our own goals and journey of growth. Individual Therapy can be helpful for us in dealing with these problems, by helping to cope, change thinking and reactions to our environment and stress, and help to change unhelpful behaviors that keep us stuck. Individual therapy can be done both in person or through telehealth.

    • The goal of chemical health counseling is to assist you or your child in developing a realistic understanding of the current and potential consequences and risks of their chemical use as well as work with you or your child to create self-identified recovery goals. By creating chemical health goals, we can look at changes that must occur to sustain the goal and holistic ways to facilitate the process. Chemical Health Counseling can be done in person or through telehealth.

  • Chemical Health/Rule 25 Assessment
    • Chemical health assessments will serve to develop an understanding of what your or your child's presenting problems may be and to develop specific change goals for therapy or treatment and to help to identify what the best course of help may be for you, ranging from weekly therapy sessions up to attendance in a treatment program. Chemical assessments are frequently required in cases such as school suspensions, DWI’s, drug possession, divorce proceedings, and public intoxication. A Hennepin County Rule 25 assessment is the most common form used to complete this assessment and can also be used to help identify whether or not public resources may be able to help pay for the cost of treatment if insurance is not an option. Chemical Health assessments include a one hour assessment, contact with a collateral, and a follow up consult to go over the results. Chemical Assessments can be done in person or through telehealth.
    • Additional Info:
      • If you or your child has recently been involved in an event such as being under the influence in the community, school or home, a chemical assessment is a first step in identifying helpful resources. Additionally, if school consequences or law enforcement has been involved, a chemical assessment may be required.
      • If you are feeling concerned about your chemical use or have recently been charged with a DWI/DUI or other drug related offense, getting a chemical health assessment is a wise choice and a good first step towards making healthy changes.
      • Minnesota Rule 25 assessments are used for the purpose of determining two things; firstly what level of care or kind of treatment would be most helpful to the person participating in the assessment and secondly whether or not the person may qualify for county funds to help pay for them to receive those services. People financially eligible for Hennepin County Rule 25 funding are individuals who do not have health insurance or those whose insurance will not cover the cost of treatment. Hennepin County Rule 25 funding is available for Hennepin County residents, both adults and adolescents.
    • Option 1:
      • Private Pay Cost: $250-many people choose to private pay for chemical assessments, as in order to bill your insurance for an assessment, you will need to be given a diagnosis in relation to the assessment.

  • Parenting Support/Family Therapy
    • I believe that the system of the family is integral in change for individuals who are struggling with mental health or chemical health concerns. With a decade of experience working with high risk and high acuity teens, I find increased benefit when able to meet with parents and provide psychoeducation on parenting strategies at home to help solidify new skills and changes, as well as general support around the difficulty of parenting a child with mental health or chemical health concerns. Parenting Support/Family therapy can be done both in person or through telehealth.
